Welcome to Llanishen and Lisvane Cub Pack. We are a popular and successful Cub Pack which

runs the Scouting programme in an interesting and exciting way. We aim to make Cubs fun.
We want you to make new friends, think of other people and the world around you and start
to develop leadership skills by the time you leave Cubs to go to Scouts. We go camping every
summer and on a weekend away during the Easter break, as well as trips throughout the year.
We often take part in District and County events with other Cub Packs. In modern times of
computers and TV’s, it is important to experience as much of the countryside as possible, so we
spend lots of time outdoors, during our pack nights. We want you to remember the great times
you had in Cubs and some of the skills that you learnt. At the end of your time in Cubs, we hope
that you will all become Scouts and continue the adventure.

Cubs was originally based on the theme of the Jungle Book, by Rudyard Kipling, so you will
discover that there is a Leader called Akela and a Grand Howl at the beginning of every Pack
night. Cubs are expected to arrive look smart and take pride in their uniform.

On starting Cubs, you will be given a Power Pack which explains the ceremonies in the Cub
Pack and the badges you can gain during your time with us. When you have been in Cubs for
approximately four weeks, you will be invested. After your investiture, you wear the black and
red neckerchief of the Group with the coloured woggle of your Six.

The Power Pack gives you information about the activity badges, challenges and group awards
which you can gain during your time as a Cub. Some of these badges we achieve as a whole Pack,
others you can do at home with the help of your parents or teachers. The final badge which you
can be awarded is the Chief Scout’s Silver Award, which you could receive if you work hard and
complete all the challenges.

During the Easter holidays, we usually have a weekend away in a bunkhouse and your Dad is

songs. We also go camping at least once a year.

JOINING CUBS
Most of our Cubs come through our Beaver Colony. However, we do take Cubs from our waiting
list, from other Cub Packs or from other Beaver Colonies. Please contact us if you wish to join.
