WHAT WE DO

The Scout section has been in existence since 1907, when Robert Baden-Powell started the Scouting movement. He noticed that boys were hanging around on the streets with nothing to do and would benefit from guided activities and challenges, which he had learnt in the army.  More than 100 years later, this is still important, providing challenge for todays young people. 10.5 to 14 year olds find the Scouting programme provides adventure, fun, friendship, physical activity, team building and leadership.  These are all important lessons in life.  The Leaders enjoy seeing the Scouts mature from children into amazing young adults.  At 14, Scouts can become Explorer Scouts and Young Leaders.

The Scout Promise
On my honour, I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and to the Queen,
To help other people

  • A Scout has courage in all difficulties.
  • A Scout makes good use of time and is careful of possessions and property.
  • A Scout has self-respect and respect for others.

Testimonial

“Scouts for me is absolutely brilliant. We learn skills for life and have fun as well! My time in Scouts has led me to quarries, geo-caching in Cefn Onn, to even trying to cook an egg with candles! We do a lot of exciting things that help us to survive in the harshest conditions, for example if we were stranded or if we were in an emergency situation.

I myself am very proud to be a Scout and I love it all.   Please come and join us!”
